FOUR TOYOTA GROUP COMPANIES ESTABLISH JOINT VENTURE COMPANY FOCUSED ON AUTOMATED DRIVING

AISIN SEIKI, ADVICS, DENSO AND JTEKT have reached a basic agreement on moving toward establishment of a joint venture company to develop integrated Engine Control Unit (ECU) software for automated driving and vehicle dynamics control. This joint venture company will be entrusted to develop and provide control software for integrated ECUs based on each automaker’s specifications. As the motor vehicle industry changing drastically, the Toyota Group will combine the strengths of each company and promote development more swiftly to grapple with competitors such as European suppliers and major IT companies. The company will be capitalized with the participation ratio of DENSO 65%, AISIN 25%, ADVICS 5% and JTEKT 5%.
